The 5-Minute Summer Website Challenge That Sets You Up for Fall Success [Ep 083]

July is here with beach days, cookouts, and all the summer fun. But before you completely swap your business hat for a beach hat, let’s sneak in a little productivity that will actually make a difference.

What if I told you that spending just five minutes a day for the next five days could set your website up for incredible fall success?

Day 1: Give Your Homepage a Reality Check

Your homepage is your virtual handshake, so let’s make sure it’s working hard for you. Spend five minutes looking at it on your phone (because that’s how most people will see it).

Take the three-second test. Can someone immediately tell what your business does, who you help, and how you make their life better? If not, it’s time for some tweaks.

Look for jargon overload, lengthy paragraphs, or missing calls to action. Does your imagery show the transformation you provide, not just the service itself?

Write down what needs fixing. If you feel inspired, make those changes right away!

Day 2: Add Calls to Action Everywhere

No more dead ends on your website! Every single page should guide visitors toward their next step with you.

Check your home page, services page, and contact page. Are there clear buttons that tell people exactly what to do next? “Book a call,” “Get the guide,” or “Start here” buttons should be impossible to miss.

Your call to action is the invisible thread that leads to conversions. Make sure every page has one (or two, but not more than that).

Day 3: Go on a Testimonial Treasure Hunt

Happy client feedback is pure gold for your website. Today, hunt through your emails, texts, or social media for those wonderful words of appreciation from clients.

Capture those heartwarming, trust-building reviews. For extra authenticity, consider using an actual screenshot of a text or email on your services page or homepage.

Real testimonials from real people speak volumes about your expertise and results.

Day 4: Test Your Contact Channels

This one’s important. Actually test your contact form today. Fill it out and make sure it works properly.

Check that your contact information is current. Have your business hours shifted over summer? Is your phone number still the same?

For a personal touch, include a smiling photo of yourself near your contact information. It helps visitors feel connected and makes them more likely to reach out.

Day 5: Plan for Fall Success

Take a peek at fall. What will you be offering? A new workshop? An updated service? Maybe a special package?

Make sure your website showcases what’s coming up. Create a mini to-do list of updates you’ll need so when autumn arrives, your site is ready to convert.

Meet Jenny

Founder + Creative Director — Boston Web Design

Hi, I’m Jenny, the designer behind JennyB Designs. List-maker by nature, mother by life, and a firm believer that you don’t have to work more hours to build a successful business.

For over 13 years, I’ve been helping business owners create websites that do real work behind the scenes. With the right structure, strategy, and design, a website can support growth, attract the right people, and quietly do the heavy lifting day after day.

Clients often describe working together as calm, organized, and supportive. The focus is always on partnership and clarity, because when the process feels steady, the end result feels even better.

The real win isn’t just hearing “this looks great.” It’s hearing “I finally feel confident sharing my website.”

A website should support your business, not demand more from you.

No pressure. Just a conversation to see if it makes sense to move forward.
