Why I Said Yes to Co-Leading the Woburn Women’s Business League

There is something that happens when you are in a room full of women who are building real businesses and genuinely want each other to succeed. The energy shifts, the conversations go deeper, and you leave with a lot more than a stack of business cards! That is what the Women’s Business League Woburn Chapter has been for me since the very beginning.

I was one of the founding members when the Woburn Chapter launched nearly two years ago. I showed up at that first meeting because my friend Jodi decided to start a new chapter and I left knowing I had found something worth showing up for every month. The women in this group are thoughtful, generous, and serious about their businesses, and that combination is rarer than it sounds.

Now, as we come up on our second anniversary, I am stepping into a new role as co-leader of the Woburn Chapter alongside Jodi Crowley of Lamacchia Realty and North of Boston Lifestyle. I could not be more excited about what that means for the chapter.

What the Women’s Business League Is

The Women’s Business League is a community built around real connection and mutual support for women in business. It is not a leads group or a pitch fest — it is a space where you can actually get to know the people around you, build trust over time, and show up for each other in ways that go beyond the transactional. The Woburn Chapter meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 8:30 to 9:30am, and our members come from all kinds of businesses, which is a huge part of what makes it so good.

Why This Matters to Me

One of the things I believe deeply about running a small business is that you should not have to do it alone. The same way I guide my clients through a website project so they never have to guess or figure it out themselves, a group like this does something similar for the bigger journey of being in business. You get to think out loud, get honest perspective, and be around people who are rooting for you because they actually know you, not just what you do.

Being a co-leader is a chance to make that experience better for more women in the Woburn area. Jodi is a connector and a community builder to her core, and I love bringing organization, structure and planning and together I think we are going to help this chapter grow!

Meet Jenny

Founder + Creative Director — Boston Web Design

Hi, I’m Jenny, the designer behind JennyB Designs. List-maker by nature, mother by life, and a firm believer that you don’t have to work more hours to build a successful business.

For over 13 years, I’ve been helping business owners create websites that do real work behind the scenes. With the right structure, strategy, and design, a website can support growth, attract the right people, and quietly do the heavy lifting day after day.

Clients often describe working together as calm, organized, and supportive. The focus is always on partnership and clarity, because when the process feels steady, the end result feels even better.

The real win isn’t just hearing “this looks great.” It’s hearing “I finally feel confident sharing my website.”

A website should support your business, not demand more from you.

No pressure. Just a conversation to see if it makes sense to move forward.
