How to Update Website Content for Fall (Using AI to Do It in Minutes)

If you have been wondering how to update website content before things get busy this fall, you are not alone. Every single person who showed up to my free workshop this week said some version of the same thing. They knew their site needed attention. They just did not know where to start. So we started somewhere small and did it together.

What You Need To Be Clear On Before You Begin

Before anyone touched their website, I asked everyone to answer one question. What is the one thing you want to be busy with this fall?

Not five things. Not your whole service list. One sentence, specific enough that a stranger reading it would know exactly what you want to be known for right now.

That one sentence became the filter for everything we did next. Because here is the truth. Your website does not know it is fall yet. It is probably still talking about whatever was true for your business back in the spring. Learning how to update website content the right way does not mean starting over. It means checking whether your site still says what you need it to say right now.

Using AI to Audit a Real Homepage

Once everyone had their fall focus written down, we picked a volunteer and ran their actual homepage through a series of AI prompts, live, together. No slides about theory. Just a real website and real feedback in real time.

We walked through four areas.

The hero. The very top of the page, the part someone sees before they scroll. We asked AI to act like a stranger landing on the site for the first time. Could they tell what the business does? Did they understand how it helps them? Did they know what to do next? And did it feel like fall, or did it feel outdated?

The navigation. Your menu is the roadmap for your whole site. We asked AI to review it like a UX consultant, looking for anything confusing or anything pulling a visitor away from that one fall focus.

Social proof. Testimonials, reviews, results. We asked AI whether the ones on the page felt specific and believable, or generic and forgettable and most importantly did they relate back to a fall service? If there were no testimonials yet, we asked what to put there as a placeholder while they gather real ones.

Calls to action. How many buttons were competing for attention. Whether the language was clear or vague. Whether everything on the page pointed toward that one fall focus, or somewhere else entirely.

By the end, our volunteer had a clear list. What was working. What needed attention. What to do first.

You Can Run This Same Check on Your Own Site

Here is the part I love most. The exact prompts we used are not proprietary or complicated. Anyone can paste them into ChatGPT or Claude alongside their own homepage and their own fall focus, and get the same kind of honest, specific feedback.

If you were not able to make it to the workshop, you can grab the full prompt handout so you can start updating your website content today.

Meet Jenny

Founder + Creative Director — Boston Web Design

Hi, I’m Jenny, the designer behind JennyB Designs. List-maker by nature, mother by life, and a firm believer that you don’t have to work more hours to build a successful business.

For over 13 years, I’ve been helping business owners create websites that do real work behind the scenes. With the right structure, strategy, and design, a website can support growth, attract the right people, and quietly do the heavy lifting day after day.

Clients often describe working together as calm, organized, and supportive. The focus is always on partnership and clarity, because when the process feels steady, the end result feels even better.

The real win isn’t just hearing “this looks great.” It’s hearing “I finally feel confident sharing my website.”

A website should support your business, not demand more from you.

No pressure. Just a conversation to see if it makes sense to move forward.
